Tasting Notes: cassis + truffle + minerals

'86 is a great vintage and built to make great old bones. Still so vibrant and youthful. A lot more structure and backbone than other Margaux. The texture was round and full bodied but with that firm edge that let you know this wine was a Queen. Great purity of cassis flavours with layers of complexity expressed by floral, mineral and truffle notes. An extraordinarily long precise finish.
